  • The Faculty Staff Help Center (FSHC) office in the Mariposa House is relocating to the Keck Science Building on the main Stanford campus, 380 Roth Way, 1st floor, on Friday, August 22, 2014.

  • Negotiations between Stanford and the SEIU Higher Education Workers Local 2007 have begun, with the goal of finalizing the contract by the end of August, when the current contract expires.

September 08 New Staff Orientation

Stanford’s staff orientation program is for newly hired, benefits-eligible staff members. You will receive a broad overview of Stanford's mission, policies, and the variety of resources, services and training opportunities available to you throughout the onboarding period. A full review of benefits plan options for retirement and health & welfare (medical, dental, life, vision, etc.) is the focus of the session.

Note: Continental breakfast is served from 8:00-8:30am. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of the course to allow sufficient time to find parking, locate the classroom, and receive your course materials.

September 09 Behavioral Interviewing

A big part of talent management is acquiring the talent your organization needs to carry out its strategy and vision. This training workshop will help you hone your interviewing skills to quickly identify and hire the right people.
Session Outcomes: 
- Hones interviewing skills to make the right hiring decisions. 
- Prevents interviewers from veering off course and asking invalid--or worse, illegal--questions. 
- Leaves candidates with a favorable impression of the university. 
- Enhances candidate' positive perceptions of Stanford. 
- Improves retention by helping to select people who are engaged and who will be a good fit within your organization.
